# Predict

Meridian Predict is Meridian's prediction markets protocol where users can stake collateral on the outcome of real-world questions (crypto prices, sports, economics, geopolitics, and more).

Instead of an order book, Meridian Predict uses a short request-for-quote (RFQ) auction. In this flow, users broadcast a requested size and prediction, market makers compete to take the other side at the best odds, and the smart contract escrows both sides' collateral to later pay out the winner. All collateral, settlement, and payouts are handled onchain.

You can predict a single question or combine several into one multi-pick position, where every pick must resolve correctly for the position to win.
